Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a major role in most economies, especially in developing countries. MSMEs are important contributors to growing businesses,employment generation and global economic growth across the world. They represent approximately 90% of businesses and more than 50% of employment worldwide. In developed economies, the average contribution of formal MSMEs to national income (GDP) is 48 percent. At the same time, the contribution of MSMEs in GDP in India is only 33 percent. In the direction of making India a developed nation we have to increase the contribution of MSME in GDP to 48 percent.
