MSME Knowledge Bank (MKB) - A Joint Venture of Indian Industries Association and SIDBI is a Unique Information Desk offering Single Window Information Facility to SMEs.

MSME KNOWLEDGE BANK (MKB) came into existence as a joint venture of IIA & SIDBI. MKB launched its services from October 1st, 2003 at IIA Bhawan, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. MKB is serving as the nerve center for disseminating all industry related information with the objective of furthering industrial development.

OBJECTIVES:
1. To set up a web based SME Information Center which can be used by the entrepreneurs as well as by the Government Departments.

2. To create an Information Database for SMEs with reference to SME operations in all areas.
Help in widening the market sphere of Small and Medium Enterprises through Internet and E-Commerce.

3. To facilitate specialized consultancy for Technology Up-gradation, Credit Availability, Taxation etc.

TARGET/BENEFICIARIES:
Existing SMEs Entrepreneurs, Prospective SMEs Entrepreneurs, Industry Associations, Academic Institutions, Government Departments, Policy Makers.

ACTIVITIES
MKB is serving as the nerve center for disseminating all industry related information with the objective of furthering industrial development. The major activities of MKB are :-
( A ) TO PROVIDE INFORMATION/DATA ON:
Ø Sales Tax Laws and Rates of Tax on different commodities.
Ø Excise, Customs and Income Tax provisions for industries.
Ø Export-Import Policy
Ø Electricity Tariff and other regulations applicable on industries.
Ø Pollution Control Laws
Ø Sources of raw materials, plant and machinery, Quality Certifying Agencies, Credit Rating Agencies, Testing Laboratories and Research Institutions.
Ø Government Policies for promotion of SMEs
Ø Programmes and Schemes of SIDBI, State Financial Institutions and other Scheduled Banks.
Ø Government agencies / departments for promotion of SSI and their activities / promotional schemes.
Ø Industrial Policies
Ø Industrial Infrastructure available in the States
Ø Profiles of Districts
Ø Agricultural, Industrial and Mineral Resources available in the States
Ø Central / State Labour Laws and Guidelines for compliance
Ø Development Programmes / Workshops / Seminars related to SMEs
Ø Latest Statistical Data on Production / Trade (Domestic and Foreign) / Technical Know-how of various commodities
Ø Data on Trade Promotion Agencies (Domestic and Foreign).
( B ) ASSIMILATION OF INFORMATION:
MKB is developing Database of relevant information / statistics by obtaining them from concerned sources / Government departments ,Consultants and various other sources
(C) DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION:
MKB disseminates information through E-mails and the Website of Indian Industries Association www.indianindustries.in developed under SIDBI Assistance Programme. The website also provides up-to-date information on latest developments in industrial and business world.

MEMBERSHIP DETAILS
Those willing to join MKB may fill in the Membership Form. However the membership will be confirmed only on receipt of payment of the requisite fees through DD.
MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES AND MEMBERSHIP FEES:-
A. SMEs / Individual Member(s)
     a)  IIA MEMBER(S) & Students of Technical & Management Colleges
          Amount : Rs. 1000/- PER ANNUM.
     b)  NON-IIA MEMBER(S)
          Amount: Rs. 2000/- PER ANNUM

B. Institutional Member(s) ( Academic Institution(s) / Non-Governmental Organisation(s) / Government & Semi-Government Institution(s) / Product Specific Association(s) / SSI Association(s)
Amount : Rs. 10,000 PER ANNUM.
Those willing to join MKB may download MKB Brochure & Application Form. However, the membership will be confirmed only on the receipt of the duly filled application form and payment of the requisite fees through DD/Cheque/Cash
